Malko Tarnovo 12 is a residential building in the dense urban fabric of Plovdiv, Bulgaria. Studio K created a structure that makes optimal use of the limited plot and balances contemporary architectural elements with the character of the surrounding cityscape.
The building features a restrained palette of light sandy brick and contrasting dark metal elements. Upper levels are clad in brick with strips of dark render, while the dark metal roof complements the granite footing wall at street level. The metal balcony railings define the exterior and are echoed in the interior atrium staircase balustrade. The interior lighting scheme was designed using Studio K’s multi-agent method incorporating AI tools.
