Cosmos Culture Centre
This project proposes rehabilitation of an old cinema building, transforming it into a center for cultural activities, exhibitions, workshops, lectures, theater, music performances, as well as cinema. The existing modernist monument is preserved within a contemporary envelope. The entrance wing is to be repaired and preserved, but the cinema hall cannot fulfill the contemporary functionality requirements. The load-bearing structure of the seating tier is reused, as the size of the theater hall is reduced, while multi-functional spaces for exhibitions, workshops, and conferences are introduced.
